What this collection covers

This collection contains 164 distinct public camera addresses. The list below shows 36 selected views with their published locations, original operators and playback formats. The map opens the same collection, where you can search by name, narrow the country or type of place, save favorites and share a link to a particular camera. Coordinates describe the published camera location; they do not describe its direction or field of view.

164 cameras · 1 video feeds · 163 updating images. Catalog imported: .

Published camera positions in this collection span latitudes 43.611° to 43.813° and longitudes -79.630° to -79.140°. The directory includes 4 named operators or publishing hosts. These bounds describe the available entries, not continuous visual coverage of the entire area. Different cameras may look at the same landmark from different positions.

Formats and activities in this collection

These counts cover the entire imported collection, not just the selected views below. A playback format describes the catalog address, not a successful live connection. A camera can have several activity labels, so those category counts should not be added together.

Toronto: street images, city cameras and provincial highways

Choose a Toronto view by the road or place it actually shows. A downtown intersection, a waterfront scene and a highway approach answer different questions. Read the location before interpreting the image, then check whether the entry is video or an updating still. The city name alone does not establish that a camera shows your route or the whole Greater Toronto Area.

Understand the municipal camera images

The City of Toronto's traffic-camera guide explains the RESCU network and distinguishes City roads from provincial highways. It describes public still images refreshed about every two to three minutes. Operators can also withhold views during emergency response or for privacy. An unavailable picture therefore does not establish that the road itself is closed.

Switch sources when the road changes

Highways 401, 427, 404 and the Queen Elizabeth Way fall under the provincial camera service described by the City. Use Ontario 511 for highway cameras together with its roadwork, incident and closure layers. For a journey crossing between municipal streets and those highways, compare the relevant sources instead of treating a single downtown camera as a report for the entire trip.

Build a useful comparison in PocketWorld

The map button opens this Toronto collection. Choose a camera from the list or a marker, inspect its published location, and start the player deliberately. The format selector helps separate moving video from still-image entries. Several entries can share a location, so use the list to distinguish their names rather than assuming that overlapping markers represent the same view.

Save a useful camera in this browser's favorites or share its individual link when comparing conditions with someone else. Check the picture time on both views: a clear older frame and a newer obstructed frame are not simultaneous evidence of different conditions. A player that opens without a capture timestamp still leaves the image age unknown.

City and Ontario links above are reference services, not a promise that every camera on them is in this collection. PocketWorld's totals describe the imported directory shown below. Keep its import date separate from the time on the picture, and read any old-directory notice before relying on an address. This guide remains useful for choosing a source; it does not certify that an old camera entry is broadcasting now.

How to watch

Choose a camera to open its card, then start playback. Video begins only after your action. YouTube broadcasts and operator players open inside the viewer; compatible HLS and video streams use the built-in player. Image cameras refresh while the viewer is open and visible. The format selector separates video from periodically updated still images, so you can choose the experience you want before opening a view.

Reading a live view

A directory entry is not a guarantee that a camera is broadcasting now. Operators may stop a stream, change its address, restrict playback by region or publish a delayed image. The catalog import date is different from the time a frame was captured. When capture time is unavailable, the viewer says so. Check the time shown inside the original picture before drawing conclusions about weather, traffic or local conditions.

Questions about these webcams

Are all entries continuous live video?

No. Each row names its format. Video streams, embedded players and updating camera images are separate formats. Current availability depends on the original operator.

Can I save or share a view?

Open the camera on the map, save it to browser favorites or copy its link. The link opens that camera without starting playback automatically. Favorites remain in this browser.
